No Comments by - Oct 21st, 2011

Trying something new! To give our customers better insight into the products and solution providers we work with, we thought what better way to do this than host a weekly interview with one of our developers and let them share with you all their thoughts on Facebook Marketing and how their solution is best meeting the needs of small business owners. We had the pleasure of talking with the team behind the GOSO Platform. Please enjoy!

Launch Date: GOSO Welcome Applet, May 11, 2011

How large is your customer base and how many clients do you serve?: 22,000 small to enterprise level businesses. Some of our bigger clients are: AutoNation, Ford, Harley Davidson, Nissan, and film actor Jon Heder, better known as Napoleon Dynamite.

What Verticals are you Focused on? Everyone is using the applets. Our Welcome App is being used by car dealerships, tourism bureaus, technology companies, blogs, retail stores, restaurants, and entertainers.

Favorite use of GOSO on a Fan Page?

Choosing just one is tough. We have thousands of businesses and organizations using the platform. But, I’d say one that we had a lot of fun with was Atlantico Rum because they integrated several of our other applets as well, like the Sweepstakes applet.

Tell us, what is GOSO and the GOSO Applets?

GOSO is a social media and brand reputation platform. We started in the automotive industry but we’re now opening our platform to other verticals. Essentially, our platform provides the ability to post to social networks, while also monitoring your brand identity and sorting through all the online static to find relevant content to share with your networks.

Within our platform is a Facebook Applet Store that provides our clients with several Facebook applications that they can integrate into their pages for additional tools. We decided to take some of those applets and provide them free to the public [the GOSO Applets. A set of four Facebook Applications: Welcome Applet, Sweepstakes Applet, Video Applet, and Offers Applet.

The Welcome Applet has been our most successful. It hit 1 million monthly active users in just over five months.

What makes GOSO attractive to small business owners compared to your competition?

We make managing your social networks easy. We provide relevant content to share with your networks. We provide the means to communicate with these networks. We provide the ability to monitor the online chatter across everything from blogs, review sites, social networks and beyond so you know just what is being said about you.

So, you should use GOSO because it simplifies and streamlines your social media and brand reputation management.

What can customers expect in the next 3-6 months?

Expect to see the GOSO platform go wide to all verticals. We’ve been developing the platform for a long time and we’re nearly ready to share it with everyone.

What trends are you predicting for the fall/holiday shopping season?

Apple is always a good prediction. So, iPhone 4S for all, I guess. And of course a mad rush on all GOSO products.

What do you think of the latest product changes on Facebook: timeline, news feed, real-time ticker?

It’s always a mixture of emotions with Facebook updates. There’s excitement at the idea of something new and innovative but there is also a little worry, because inevitably some of those changes may mean losing some of the features and aspects of Facebook that you love. I think the new changes are going to shake things up a bit but ultimately, I think the overall affect will be an improvement on the Facebook experience.

How will these changes alter/influence your product for brands and marketers?

I don’t see it altering much for us. We’re an agile company that always rolls with the punches. We’re able to make changes at a rate that not a lot of companies can. So, if something does come through that is going to affect us, in the end it won’t because we adapt and we adapt quickly. It’s exciting when stuff is shaken up like Facebook is doing. It means we get to shake things up as well. Which is what we enjoy.

Thanks again to Ryan & the GOSO team for the interview. Be sure check out the GOSO Applets on Appbistro and tells us what you think.
